I found this article on ABC news on-line, dealing with drivers playing hurt. It offers some suggestions, but I sort of like the way DW talked about it last Sunday. Why not just have a "permission slip" from a doctor to miss a race. With the driver as the declared entrant for the car, a substitute driver may be used if the primary driver is injured, and I mean, for the entire event. No having to start a race. The points the substitute driver gets would still be awarded to the primary driver. What do y'all think?

That's a tough one. Because then you open up the can of worms as the flu being a reason not to drive, etc. I don't know the answer here.
But please continue to do research on how to take the jinx of Esad!
I can see where Babs is coming from with this, but I think it would be a good idea. Only if used with physical problems, like Jrs burns, Tonys shoulder etc, not stuff like colds and flu. If used when a driver is in danger of making his problem worse, or seriously slowing down his healing time (or hers), then I would be all for it.
